Who I Am

Hey! I’m Sunoo.

I am queer, non-binary, and a second generation Korean American. Growing up in the Bay Area, I’ve always struggled to find support from those who looked like me or had similar stories to me. And sadly even now there still aren’t enough QTPOC therapists out there. That’s why I got into this work.

Who we are matters.

Representation matters.

A stronger and richer therapeutic relationship with greater depth and understanding stems from therapists who have shared life experiences with their clients. These are the principles that guide me in developing a powerful, supportive relationship with my clients.

I am great fit for BIPOC/AAPI queer folx who hold a myriad of identities that may feel at odds with one another. Those who feel stuck between many different worlds and don’t fit into a single, neat box and want to be okay with that. I provide a safe space for clients to embark on an internal journey to find out where these feelings of shame, “too much”, and “not enough” come from and to dismantle them. I’m excited to support clients in finding the nuanced threads of their intersecting identities and to weave them together into their own beautiful and unique fashion.

If you feel like a creature in a person-skin-suit-- So do I, and I love it!
Let’s be weird creatures together.

My Approach

My approach to therapy is integrative, strength based, and trauma informed. Working with me will be casual, playful, honest, and conversational.

I work primarily through talk therapy and with elements of the expressive arts woven throughout. I will cater the experience to your specific needs. I will see you as a whole, unique, and beautifully complex individual. We will dive deep into your internal processes with curiosity and compassion and discover your story. I will help you to rewrite parts you want to rewrite. Reclaim parts you want to reclaim.

My goal is to step into your world and connect with you there through curiosity and empathy and to enable you on your journey towards actualization.

I provide a trans / kinky / queer / poly / sex work safe space that’s non judgmental and affirming for all clients.

If any of those are identities that you hold or more, you will be safe and affirmed here.

This is a place where you can come to talk and
I will not shame you.
